Mr. Autumn Man

"Mr. Fall, who sources speculate loves Thanksgiving, butternut squash soup, homecoming parades, 'The Legend of Sleepy Hollow,' apple-picking, and haunted hayrides, emerges reliably every year around this time in his traditional uniform, sometimes alternating his iconic sweater with a fleece vest or pullover."

Mr. Fall, 2012. From the Onion website. No photo credit.
Real News from the Onion, which works almost exclusively in clichés and typifications, to hilarious and sometimes poignant effect. Very important that the readers--myself included--can feel smug about their recognition of cultural signifiers (i.e. plaid shirt). You would have guessed it was Boston even if the article didn't mention it, right?

I also feel like they missed a crucial L.L. Bean reference, but maybe they're not allowed to directly use brand names (only cover them up halfway with a drink sleeve)?
